The PMBOK methodology has 47 processes related to various areas of project management. These 47 processes in turn relate to ten knowledge areas. Depending on the project type, although not all projects use 47 processes but most projects end up using some processes pertaining to each of the ten knowledge areas. The ten knowledge areas are as follows:
- Project Integration Management
- Project Scope Management
- Project Time Management
- Project Cost Management
- Project Quality Management
- Project Human Resource Management
- Project Communications Management
- Project Risk Management
- Project Procurement Management
- Project Stakeholder Management.
